Our new Wildcat Way Certificate of Excellence was approved to be part of the University’s 100% Engagement Initiative. The 100% Engagement Initiative provides all students with the opportunity to apply their knowledge to real-world experiential learning opportunities before they graduate. Experiences can be in ‘for credit’ classes or through an approved ‘non-credit’ experience. All approved 100% Engagements will appear on students’ transcripts.
The Wildcat Way Certificate of Excellence has been approved as a non-credit experience. Students will be required to participate in three activities in each of our five pillars/core values areas (Engaged; Versatile; Respectful; Innovative; Committed); do a personality, behavioral or career assessment; submit a resume; complete a mock interview; complete 50 hours of community service (including 10 hours of public speaking); and write a reflection paper on what they learned through leadership programs, community service, internships, workshops and other Wildcat Way related activities. There is also a Certificate of Distinction, which is similar to the Certificate of Excellence, but with more hours required in each area. Student-athletes will have until they graduate to complete the requirements.
This is a great opportunity to showcase how our student-athletes embrace The Wildcat Way and are real-world ready!
