Heather Quinn earned her Bachelors of Science degree in Environmental Science from the University of Arizona. She went on to work for a local demolition company that had an environmental component. She left the position to stay at home with her children, but as her little ones entered school, she volunteered in their classes and found her true passion. She went back to school earning her Post-Baccalaureate in 2005 and began her career in education teaching advanced 8th grade math and science courses in Vail.

Ms. Quinn joined the team to open Andrada Polytechnic High School in 2012 where she now enjoys teaching honors pre-calculus, pre-calculus, algebra 3, and honors chemistry. Ms. Quinn incorporates technology and implements projects that connect to the real world while working to help students see math as useful. She puts math into a completely different context than simply working problems and solving equations in a textbook. She further works to incorporate science, especially physics, into her 4th year math classes and vice versa by incorporating complex math into her honors chemistry class. Her students love the real world applications of both topics.

Ms. Quinn can also be found working hard for students outside her classroom. She co-sponsors two clubs that promote diversity and unity among students, and when she has time, she runs with the Andrada running club on their beautiful outdoor desert trail. She further serves on the district curriculum management team and is the instructional team leader for Andrada’s math department. Outside of school, Ms. Quinn is an avid runner. She also supports Tucson’s only improve theater and works with two different animal charity organizations.
