Brenda Kurtz
Ms. Kurtz earned a BA in Education in English and Mathematics from the University of Arizona and a Masters in Teaching in Mathematics from Northern Arizona University.
As a math teacher at Benson high school, Ms. Kurtz works tirelessly to go above and beyond to build confidence in every student so that they are academically successful. She strives to build trust and relationships with her students and engages them in their learning. She incorporates into her teaching, strategies that meet the individual needs of all her students. She has found that her students learn best when she uses cooperation and collaboration in her lessons. The excitement that her students get from their learning is contagious and students want to learn.
Ms. Kurtz is involved in the Reteach program and is an Intersession Instructor throughout the school year. She is a statistician for the local Football team’s radio broadcast and works with the Academic Decathlon program. She is very supportive of various activities at school as well as the Stocking Stuffers program in her community.
