Carolyn Zeiher
Dr. Zeiher earned a BA Science in Biology from Centre College, Danville, KY, a Master of Science in Plant Physiology from the University of Kentucky, Lexington, KY, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Biochemistry from the University of Missouri.
Dr. Zeiher is currently teaching AP Biology, Pre-AP Biology, Biotechnology I and Biotechnology II at Canyon Del Oro High School in the Amphitheater School District. She is always looking to make her classes exciting, engaging and interactive. She incorporates new teaching techniques and best practices into her lessons. She uses class time to engage student in hands on learning by creating screen casts of her lectures so that students can view her lectures for homework and then use class time for interactive learning. As a result, her students have a better grasp of the curriculum. Dr. Zeiher uses project based learning to help students fully understand challenging concepts.
She works with students to develop Independent Research Projects to be presented at the SARSEF conference. She volunteers to collect toys for the Toys for Tots in December. She donates hygiene projects to Teenage Outreach Pregnancy Services for teenage parents. She sponsored an activity at Harelson Elementary School Science night. Dr. Zeiher involves professionals in the community by giving her students first hand access to experts in the science and medical fields.
