2008 Women’s 800 Free Relay Team
Taylor Baughman, Lacey Nymeyer, Justine Schluntz and Leone Vorster finished day two of the 2008 National Championships with power when they broke the NCAA Championship meet and school record in the 800 Free Relay, swimming the event in 6:58.69. The eighth-seeded team surprised the crowd with a victory and eclipsed Cal’s year old mark with their record time. This national title was Arizona’s first in the 800 Free Relay since 2002. The victory, one of five relay wins for the Wildcats, helped the women take home the team national title. During their careers, Taylor, Lacey, Justine and Leone combined to earn 65 All-America honors.
