Sports Medicine - Student Involvement

Do you like sports? Interested in a Sports Medicine career path?  Are you a true Wildcat and want to help and support our athletic teams?  If the answer is "yes" to all of these questions then consider volunteering as an Athletic Training (AT) Technician in the Arizona Athletics' C.A.T.S. Medical Services.

Volunteers will work within the University of Arizona Athletics -Sports Medicine Department and will be introduced to the collegiate sports medicine atmosphere, observing our certified athletic trainers and employed athletic training technicians with the management, treatment and rehabilitation of our student-athletes.  Volunteers have the opportunity to work in two AT facilities- Kasser Sports Medicine Centers in McKale and in Lowell-Stevens Athletic Training facility.

Primary duties for volunteers are: athletic training room maintenance, assist the staff and athletic training techs in injury treatment/management, practice set up/breakdown and occasional practice coverage.

Please note that we have mandatory informational sessions within the first 2-3 weeks of each semester, after that we no longer take volunteers until the next semester. However if you would like to be placed on a "Interested List" please contact us along with other inquiries at the email below.

At the end of the volunteer process, students may be invited to interview for a paid Athletic Training Technician position for the following semester.  Employment is based on application form, volunteer history and compatibility, knowledge of competencies and interview.
