Robert Cannon
Mr. Robert Cannon earned a BFA in Theatrical Production from the University of Arizona and a M.Ed in Elementary and Secondary Education from Northern Arizona University.
Mr. Cannon introduces students to all facets of the performing arts by presenting musicals, dramas, comedies, student-written productions, and improv. He truly believes that students learn best by doing and his role is to guide, support, and offer instruction as needed. Through his connections in the arts community, students have the opportunity to experience theater arts beyond the high school stage and undue experiences which will serve them well in their futures. He organizes biennial trips to California which include tours of production facilities, college campuses, and performances with local improv groups.
Mr. Cannon gives tirelessly of his time, talents, and expertise to support other school functions and has forged strong relationships in the community. He is a strong advocate of the Pima County Joint Technical Education District (JTED) and has served as an advisory member and collaborated with others to create the technical theatre standards and curriculum. Mr. Cannon works to instill in his students a love of the performing arts, an attitude of tolerance and team work, and a spirit of inquiry.
