Ryan Carle-Ogren
Ryan Carle-Ogren holds dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Music and Music Education from Northern Arizona University. He currently teaches Band and Orchestra at Walden Grove High School in Sahuarita.
His mantra, "Better Music, Better People" and his focus on the development of the whole child is what sets Mr. Carle-Ogren apart. Students love his ability to set high expectations, while providing safe spaces for them to develop as young people. His hope is that every student that enters his classroom develops the skills necessary to succeed in anything they do, not just music. Ryan encourages students to recognize others through what he calls the "High Notes" Board, where kids write notes of encouragement, congratulations or thanks to other students. He creates an atmosphere of collegiality everywhere he goes and believes leadership is not about managing others, but empowering people to use their strengths to help everyone succeed.
Ryan is dedicated to his craft and is often found traveling on the road with his students, in competitions and at community events, and even teaching music camp at NAU. Ryan's sense of altruism and his drive for excellence at Walden Grove has resulted in Superior rankings in Jazz Band, Concert Band, and "All Caption" awards for its Red Wolf Regiment Marching Band. He has served as an Instructional Coach, Fine Arts Department Chair, and AMEA South Central Region Governor.
