   Ms. Jill Christman earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Arizona and completed a post-baccalaureate teacher preparation program at the University of Phoenix.
 
Ms. Christman is an innovative, inspiring leader at Canyon del Oro High School. She continually pursues teaching techniques that help students grasp complex chemistry and forensic science material and takes their learning to the next level. Ms. Christman’s “flipped classroom” model has had a profound effect. The flipped classroom model has students watch short lectures the night before class, note any questions, and go to school the next day ready to expand their learning. 
 
Ms. Christman has participated in programs designed to enhance teaching in the field of science. Teachers across the state have instituted her blended-learning techniques. She has also worked with the University of Arizona to create a sun-safe curriculum, and she developed chapter exercises for a forensic science textbook. Ms. Christman’s dedication to her students extends beyond the classroom into the school’s Chemistry Club, Be Kind Club and her AP with WE service. She also works with students submitting to the SARSEF science competition and is an IB Extended Essay Advisor.
