Walden Grove High School and the Sahuarita School District are proud to recognize Amy Kueck as their nominee for outstanding high school teacher. Ms. Kueck earned a degree in statistics from Bowling Green State University, dedicated 15 years as a mathematical statistician and programmer in public and private sectors, and earned a teaching certificate through Pima Community College’s certification program.
 
Amy Kueck teaches math and computer science courses at Walden Grove High School, where she makes learning interesting and meaningful for students by integrating real-world applications gleaned from her work in the field prior to becoming a teacher. Her statistics students design and implement their own surveys and analyze the results, gaining meaningful insights about bias, validity, and mathematical modeling. Ms. Kueck launched Walden Grove’s Computer Science program in 2018, and has added courses, increased enrollment, and elevated student achievement each year.
 
Additionally, Ms. Kueck leads a computer science club and promotes coding activities with elementary students by partnering them with her high school club members. She also serves as a Class Club sponsor, helping students enhance Walden Grove High School through fundraising and organizing events such as homecoming and prom.
