Kenton’s summer welding boot camps over the last five years have resulted in 186 industry certifications. Kenton uses virtual weld simulators so students learn different techniques for join welds before entering the hands-on lab space. Daily In the shop, students use industry-standard equipment to cut, weld, and bend steel to develop their skills and create projects and even art. Â
For three years the Town of Marana has commissioned the Kenton’s welding program to design create artwork for the Marana community. Throughout the community, the products of his welding students are on display. Additionally Marana High School’s USA Welding Club students have won their regional competition the past three years. Every year his students have walked away with thousands of dollars in prizes, scholarships, and most importantly, pride.
