TEAM NOTES

  • Arizona improved to 8-3 on the year with a 5-3 record in Big 12 Conference play. The Wildcats are now guaranteed to have a winning record in conference play.
    • This marks the 19th time that Arizona has boasted a winning record in conference play since the Wildcats joined the Pac-12 Conference in 1978.
    • It is also the 19th time in program history that the Wildcats have won 8+ games in a season.
  • The Wildcats finished their home slate with a record of 6-1 in seven home games, tying the program record for home wins in a season.
    • Arizona has won six home games seven times, with this season being the first time since 2014.
  • Head Coach Brent Brennan has led the Wildcats to eight wins this year, the most he has tallied in a single season in his head coaching career.
  • Arizona opened the year losing their first two contests when trailing at halftime (at Iowa State, at Houston) and now boast a 3-2 record when trailing at the break after beating Kansas, Cincinnati, and Baylor in comeback fashion.
  • The Wildcats defense pitched a shutout in the second half while limiting Baylor to only 135 yards. Arizona has now posted 15 scoreless quarters this year.
    • Arizona's defense has allowed just 84 points in the second half and 36 in the fourth quarter this year.
  • Saturday was the seventh time this season that Arizona has won the turnover battle; they are 6-1 in those games.
  • The Wildcats tallied 10 tackles for loss against Baylor, marking the third time this 
  • Arizona's captains for today's game were: DB Treydan Stukes, DB Dalton Johnson, WR Luke Wysong, and OL Ty Buchanan.
  • Baylor won the opening coin toss and elected to receive the opening kick.


INDIVIDUAL NOTES

  • RB Kedrick Reescano paced the offense with a trio of touchdowns, giving him eight rushing touchdowns on the year.
    • It was the first three rushing touchdown performance by a Wildcat since Quali Conley accomplished the feat against New Mexico in the 2024 season opener.
    • It was the first multi-score game of Reescano's career.
  • DB Dalton Johnson led the Wildcats defense with a career-high 18 tackles, the most by a Wildcat since Scooby Wright has 19 at UCLA on Nov. 1, 2014.
  • DB Genesis Smith also set a career-high in tackles with 16, blowing away his previous career-high of 10 from earlier this year against BYU.
  • WR Kris Hutson finished the game with 133 yards on nine receptions; he set a career high in yards and tied his career high in receptions.
    • He now boasts back-to-back 100-yard performances, and has five in his career.
  • RB Ismail Mahdi's fourth-quarter touchdown was his fifth of the season (4 rush, 1 receiving).
  • DL Mays Pese picked up his first career sack in the third quarter.


TRACKING (last updated: FINAL)

  • QB Noah Fifita's 8,632 career passing yards are third most in program history. He is 580 passing yards shy of moving past Willie Tuitama (9,211; 2005–08) for second in program history.
