Amanda Dunn has always loved to learn and read, and after an inspiring high school teacher treated her and her classmates like people instead of numbers, she knew who she wanted to be… that inspirational teacher for other students! So, she earned her Bachelor’s of Arts in Secondary Education with an English emphasis and a French minor from Northern Arizona University.
 
Amanda has taught Freshman English, Honors Freshman English, World Literature, Drama 1 and 2, and Yoga and Pilates at Vail Academy and High School in Vail. All of her classes are action packed and unique including her Yoga and Pilates class where they learn the art of healing through self-reflection and Friday compliments and appreciations.
 
And, Amanda’s World Literature students are enjoying a focus on service this year as they study how service has influenced literature over the centuries… and they are putting that service into action volunteering at the Tucson Village Farm, Project Linus, Feed My Starving Children, and more! Amanda’s students also see her everywhere as she is the State of Arizona Chess Coordinator, Track and Field Coach, host of Spookapalooza, foreign trip chaperone, and advisor to break dancing club, crochet and knit club, animae club, and poetry night!
