Ashton Gildea- Walden Grove High School
Ashton Gildea received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Creative Writing and Classical Civilizations from the University of Arizona. He then went on to get his Master of Arts in Teaching from Brandeis University.
Mr. Gildea currently teaches WRT 101 and 102, Senior Composition and Current Affairs, and English III at Walden Grove High School. Mr. Gildea makes learning engaging and accessible to all students by making the texts and topics relevant to current issues. With a great deal of student choice and autonomy, Mr. Gildea is able to help all students access new skills and materials through the learning styles and types of intelligences that each student individually thrives through. Students in his class feel that they have a real voice and take advantage of the power they are given to control their learning.
Outside of the classroom, Mr. Gildea is the head girls tennis coach, sponsor of the creative writing club, and co sponsor of the Queer Straight Alliance on campus. He can always be spotted at home games, concerts, and performances supporting his students’ passions beyond the classroom.
