Jose Salcido – Amphi High School
Mr. Jose Salcido received both a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physics and a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Science Education from the University of Arizona.
Mr. Salcido currently teaches Physics, Cambridge Physics, and AP Physics at Amphitheater High School.
He is diligent in his pursuit of creating meaningful experiences for the students in his classroom. He employs many strategies to teach and assess student achievement of essential standards. Whether he’s lecturing, using small group discussion, or project-based learning, Ms. Salcido is always driving students towards a deeper understanding of the content and how it applies to their lives. In the classroom, Mr. Salcido prioritizes whether or not students are able to employ problem-solving techniques to uncover underlying questions, not just facts and formulas. This type of higher-level problem solving equips students with the ability to problem solve through the rigors of daily life and prepares them for the dynamic and ever-changing 21st century workforce.
Outside the classroom, Mr. Salcido served as the sponsor of the MESA and VEX Robotics club. His teams competed against other teams across the state of Arizona, providing his students with valuable experiences.
