Richard Booth found his love of teaching high school after 21 years of service in the United States Air Force. He earned an Associate’s in Air Force Electrical Engineering from Air University. He then earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Management Information Systems and Information Technology from the University of Phoenix. The opportunity presented itself for him to return to school for a doctorate in physics, but on the very day he was going to sign, he found himself as a new recruit… by his son’s high school principal!

Since then, Richard has taught Intro to Computer Science, Video Production 1 & 2; Gaming and Animation 1 & 2; Web Design 1, 2, & 3, and AP Computer Science at Empire High School in Vail. Richard opens doors for his students bringing in the best people and gadgets to learn from. Richard also works to help his students build their own worldwide networks through the countless opportunities to utilize their new skills all over Tucson!

Richard’s SkillsUSA team can be found standing on medians during the summer handing out water, providing free carwashes, serving with the Humane Society, and teaming up with local organizations to promote community fundraisers for those in need.
