Sally Moore knew from the time she was a child that she wanted to teach, but decided to take a different direction and earned her Bachelor of Science in Public Relations from Northern Arizona University. After working for a while, she realized she’d missed her true calling and headed back to school to earn her Master of Arts in Education from the University of Arizona.

Sally began her career teaching English at Andrada Polytechnic High School eight years ago. Sally keeps her students engaged by providing exciting activities including holding a mock trial for Abigail Williams, a young girl accused of witchcraft in Salem, MA or having her students participate in a “Red Dot” activity simulating the Red Scare during the McCarthy era of the 1950’s. They don’t just read the literature of historical periods, they live it!

As the NHS sponsor, Sally and her students are constantly serving. They raise money to provide for not just Andrada’s annual Angel Tree, but for Angel Trees across Vail. Further, she and her students plan and participate in two giant community events with over 1,000 attendees, the Andrada Halloween Festival and Mav Fest, both carnival events open to the entire community each year.
