High School: Attended Benonin HS in Eldama Ravine, Kenya....Ran a personal best of 13:46.03  in the 5k (at 6000 ft elevation) to place fourth at the Kenyan U20 trials for the African Junior Championships.
 
Personal: Born in Eldama Ravine, Kenya.… Son of Devid Tanui… Has one sister, Sharon, and three brother… Pursuing a B.S. in Animal Sciences… Enjoys football..
