2014: Indoors, Thorne ran the mile at the UW Invitational in 4:22.94 … At the Husky Classic, his season-best time of 8:39.09 in the 3K was good for 15th place … Outdoors, Thorne’s personal-best time of 9:50.07 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase came at the ASU Invitational where he finished in third place.

2013 (XC): Thorne scored for the Wildcats at two meets during the cross country season … He finished in 19th place overall with a time of 26:54.6 at the George Kyte Classic 8K and was the third Wildcat to finish the race … Thorne’s time of 25:20.9 at the Thunderbird Classic 8K was good for third place overall and third among UA runners … He ran for the Wildcats at four other meets as well.

HIGH SCHOOL: Thorne graduated from Joel E. Ferris High School in Spokane, Wash. … He was team captain his junior and senior years while also earning MVP honors in his senior year … At the 2012 Washington State Cross Country Championships, Thorne earned a ninth-place finish … At the 2009 Washington State Cross Country Championships, Thorne and his teammates won the team title … He was named to his high school’s Honor Roll all four years … Thorne was an AP Scholar with honors as well.

PERSONAL: He is the son of Liz and David Thorne and was born in Spokane, Wash. … He has two siblings, a brother, Adam, who is a member of the Stanford cross country and track and field team and a sister, Samantha … He is pursuing a degree in engineering.
