Kyle DeVan was named to the Arizona coaching staff in February 2019 and enters his second season in Tucson in 2020.

DeVan, who played collegiately in the Pac-12 at Oregon State before a five-year career in the National Football League, comes to Arizona from Ball State. In three seasons with the Cardinals, DeVan coached the offensive line and he was an assistant head coach for the 2017-18 seasons.

In 2016, DeVan developed an offensive line that paved the way for 220 rushing yards per game, the best mark for the Cardinals since 1978. That year, Ball State rushed for 300 or more yards three times, including a high of 356 yards against Buffalo.

The following year, DeVan's group battled injuries and inexperience with five players making their first career start and seven different line combinations starting games. In 2018, six of DeVan's linemen earned All-MAC academic honors, and the team set a school single-game record with 652 yards of offense against Central Connecticut.

Prior to Ball State, DeVan spent one season coaching in the NFL where he was an assistant offensive line coach with the New Orleans Saints under head coach Sean Payton and offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael.

DeVan began his coaching career as a graduate assistant working with tight ends at his alma mater, Oregon State, where he helped the Beavers to a Hawai'i Bowl appearance in 2013. A season later, DeVan was an offensive graduate assistant at USC.

A three-time Pac-10 All-Academic honoree, DeVan was a four-year letterman at Oregon State (2004-07), starting 38 games on the offensive line. He was named to the All-Pac-10 second team in 2006 and was an honorable mention selection in 2005 and 2007. DeVan helped lead the Beavers to three bowl victories, including the 2004 Insight Bowl, the 2006 Sun Bowl and the 2007 Emerald Bowl. He went on to play in the 2008 East-West Shrine game to end his collegiate career and earned his bachelor's degree in business administration from Oregon State in 2008.

DeVan's professional career spanned five seasons (2008-12) as an offensive guard in the NFL. He was with the Washington Redskins and New York Jets in 2008, then spent 2009 with the Boise Burn of the arenafootball2 league before joining the Indianapolis Colts for three seasons (2009-11), where he started 21 of the 31 games in which he appeared (including Super Bowl XLIV). DeVan wrapped up his playing career with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2011 (starting four times) and the Tennessee Titans in 2012 (one start).

DeVan prepped at Vacaville High School in Vacaville, Calif., where he was on the football and wrestling teams. He was the California heavyweight champion as a senior.
