Tobruk Blaine joined the Arizona Football program as the Director of Player Development in June of 2024, following 7 years at San Jose State University in a similar role. 
 
Blaine's passion for education and sports, combined with her love for teaching and coaching, allowed her to create a first-of-its-kind player development program at San Jose State University, impacting over 110 Division I collegiate football athletes annually. Known for her practicum learning approach, Blaine fosters the holistic development of collegiate athletes, ensuring they leave college with the essential knowledge, skills, and relationships that will propel them into their future. 
 
While at San Jose State, Blaine helped steward partnerships with Fortune 500 companies to implement an annual bespoke internship program to impact career exposure and professional experience in the tech industry for marginalized student-athletes, increasing by 250% in the first year, contributing to a university-wide grant award of 2 million dollars. 

Due to the impact of Beyond Football Blaine elevated in 2021, serving as the Assistant Athletics Director for Student-Athlete Development and sport administrator. By utilizing the Beyond Football framework, she launched the first-ever student-athlete development program, Beyond Sparta. A program the grew to support over 470 Division 1 Collegiate Athletes across 22 sports each year.
 
With over 20 years of secondary and higher education experience, paired with coaching, Blaine has an unwavering commitment to collegiate athlete development, using an innovative approach to provide real-life exposure and experience that will excite college athletes about their future beyond sport. 

Blaine is a Boise, Idaho native who earned degrees from both Oregon State University and the University of Idaho. She moves to Tucson with her husband Ben, and two children - Landyn (5) & Colby (3).
