Pac-12 title in the 200 free relay (2016)

2016-17: Honorable mention All-American in a pair of relay teams (200y freestyle relay and 200y medley relay) … Finished eighth at the Pac-12 Championships in the 50y freestyle with a time of 19.67 (NCAA B cut), the third fastest 50y freestyle of any Wildcat on the season … Had the second fastest time on the team in the 100y freestyle (43:37), swam at the Texas Invitational, good for an NCAA B cut … Finished top three in the 50y freestyle in six of his nine outings, including a pair of first-place finishes (vs. Hawaii, 10/8/16; at Utah, 10/22/16) … Finished second in the 100y freestyle at USC (44.94) and vs. Stanford (45.53) … Had the sixth-fastest 200y freestyle on the team (1:37.35; Texas Invitational).

2015-16: Earned a Pac-12 title in the 200 free relay and received an NCAA ‘A’ cut with a time of 1:17.41…Individually at Pac-12s, finished second in the B final of the 50 free with 19.86 and fourth in the C final of the 200 free with 1:40.01…Competed at NCAA Championships as a member of the 200 free relay team that took sixth in the B final (1:18.13)…Placed first in the 50 free against No. 18 USC (20.60) and second versus No. 1 Texas (20.83)…At the Texas Invitational, finished fifth in the 50 free with 19.93 and seventh in the B final of the 100 free with 44.78…Had the third-fastest time on the team in the 50 free from the Pac-12 Championships. 

2014-15: Had the fourth fastest time on the team in the 50 free (19:99) and 200 free (1:38.57)…Held the fifth fastest time in the 100 free with 44.66 and 100 breast with 58.54…Competed at NCAA Championships as a member of the 200 free relay team and earned All-American Honorable Mention honors after finishing first in the consolation final with 1:17.34…At Pac-12 Championships, he took first in the C final of the 50 free with his season-best time, earning a ‘B’ cut…Also at Pac-12s, Beach placed third in the C final of the 200 free (1:40.66), fifth in the C final of the 100 free (44.87) and fourth in the 200 free relay with 1:17.69 for an ‘A’ cut…Took seventh in the B final of the 50 free at the Texas Invitational, eighth in the C final of the 200 free and seventh in the C final of the 100 free…Tied for third in the 50 free against ASU and fourth against Cal.

High School: A six-time letterwinner at Douglas County High School for freestyle and anchor…Was team captain and MVP…Made All-Conference, All-City, All-District, All-State and All-America teams…Won state and set the league record senior year…Holds school records in the 50, 100, 200 and 500 free, 100 back, 100 breast and 100 fly…Ranked the fourth best prospect out of Colorado and the 149th best swimmer in the country out of high school by collegeswimming.com.

Personal: Born Justin Paul Beach in March of 1996 in Colorado Springs, Colo. to Paul and Cathy Beach…Has one older brother, Travis…Planned major is nutrition…Likes to play outdoor sports in his free time…Chose Arizona over Alabama, Iowa, Utah and Texas because of the swim team and coaches.
