Holds the seventh fastest 100y breaststroke time in school history with 52.83 (12/5/15; Texas Invitational)

2016-17: Finished second at the Texas Invitational in the 100 breaststroke with 53.18, which was second fastest on the team and an NCAA B cut…Had the fifth fastest time on the team and a personal best in the 200 breast at Pac-12 Championships with 2:01.09…Placed in the top-three five times, including a victory vs. Hawaii in the 100 breaststroke (57.06).

2015-16: Redshirted his first season at Arizona…Swam unattached at the Texas Invitational to finish sixth in the C final of the 200 breast (2:03.06) and seventh in the C final of the 50 free (21.07).

Prior to Arizona: Was 79th in the FINA 2013 rankings of the 50 breast with a time of 28.16…Finished second in the 50 breast (28.83) at the 2014 Swedish Grand Prix.

Personal: Born William Elias Olavi Wihanto in September of 1994 to Antti and Carita Wihanto…Has a younger sister, Emma…Planned major in Marketing at Arizona…Likes to listen and make music, read and socialize in his free time…Chose Arizona because of the renowned swim program and variety of majors.
