  • Title
    Volunteer Assistant Coach
Mitch Stewart is in his first season as volunteer assistant coach at Arizona under Clancy Shields.

"I'm very excited to announce the addition of Mitch Stewart to our staff," Shields said. "He was one of the top junior and collegiate players in the country and I'm sure he will bring that same standard of excellence to his coaching career. He brings a tremendous amount of experience to the courts and his passion for the game is unmatched. I know our players will be very excited to work with him and begin the journey of competing for a National Championship."

Stewart was a four-year letterwinner at the University of Washington from 2014 to 2018, where he was named Pac-12 All-Conference three times and was ranked as high as No. 57 in the country. He also received the 2018 ITA Northwest Region Arthur Ashe Leadership and Sportsmanship Award and was Pac-12 All-Academic in 2018 as well.

He finished his career with a career singles record of 67-36 and also won 25 doubles matches. During his senior season, he led the team in dual-match singles wins with 16 and had six wins over ranked opponents.
