Lagaev was the No. 2 prospect out of Canada, ranking as high as the No. 321 player in the ITF Junior Rankings and 13.09 on the Universal Tennis Rating. Lagaev has made it to the finals in both the Canadian Indoor National Championships and the Canadian Outdoor National Championships.
