Christian Conrad Headshot

Christian Conrad

Christian Conrad was hired as an assistant pitching coach at Arizona in June of 2023.

Conrad came to Arizona following three seasons at Loyola Marymount as the pitching coach for the Lions. At LMU, Conrad coached the back-to-back West Coast Conference Pitcher of the Year and helped the pitching staff record sub-3.00 ERAs in the 2022 and 2023 seasons.

In 2025, Conrad led the Wildcats to a 2.60 ERA, the team’s best ERA since 2021 and the second-best ERA in the Big 12. Under Conrad’s guidance, Devyn Netz threw the 11th perfect game in program history against BYU (3/27) and became the first Wildcat to ever hit a home run and throw a perfect game in the same game. Netz and Miranda Stoddard both recorded the best ERAs of their careers in 2025, with Stoddard leading the Cats with a 1.73 ERA and Netz notching a 2.25 ERA. The pitching staff recorded five saves to rank third in program history and combined for 15 shutouts which ranked second in the Big 12 and 10th in the NCAA. The duo of Netz and Stoddard led the Big 12 in walks allowed per seven innings, with Netz leading the conference with 1.01 walks allowed per seven innings and Stoddard allowing 1.13 walks per seven innings.

During his first season at Arizona, Conrad coached the Wildcats to a 3.93 ERA, a drop from 2023’s 4.26 ERA, and tied the program record for team saves during a season (6). He guided Arizona’s ace Aissa Silva to a 3.25 ERA, a significant drop from her 4.80 ERA in 2023, and 22 wins which led the Pac-12 in the regular season. The Wildcats’ duo of Silva and Miranda Stoddard each tallied three saves to tie the program record for individual saves in a season. Under Conrad’s guidance, freshman Brooke Mannon and graduate Ali Blanchard combined to throw a five-inning perfect game against Lipscomb.

At LMU, Conrad coached the Lions to back-to-back seasons with sub-3.00 ERAs. In 2023, he guided LMU ace Jenna Perez to a conference-leading 233 strikeouts, 3.82 strikeout-to-walk ratio, and 9.6 strikeouts per seven innings. In 2022, LMU ranked second in the WCC with a 2.63 ERA under Conrad's direction – the lowest staff ERA during Conrad's time at LMU. Under his guidance, Perez posted a 1.63 ERA – which led the WCC – in her first season at LMU.

Prior to LMU, Conrad spent time at Oregon and Florida State. At Oregon, Conrad was an undergraduate assistant under former head coach Mike White and current head coach Melyssa Lombardi, working with All-American pitchers Maggie Balint, Miranda Elish, and Megan Kleist. During his time at FSU, Conrad worked with head coach Lonni Alameda to develop pitchers and learn about the strategy of using a team's bullpen effectively.

Conrad also has coaching experience as the batting practice coach for the USA Softball U-19 team in 2019 and as a team facilitator for Athletes Unlimited in the fall of 2020.
