HIGH SCHOOL: Young, a graduate of Vincent Massey S.S. in Canada was named the team’s MVP all four years … In the summer of 2012, Young competed in the World Junior Championships representing Canada … He was the only male to compete in all three throwing events … He finished in sixth place overall in the discus … He was named the Ontario Thrower of the Year in 2010, 2011 and 2012 … He holds school records in the discus and the shot put with marks of 200-0 in the discus and 63-0 in the shot put … He was also recruited by Oklahoma, Auburn, LSU, Michigan State and Texas.

PERSONAL: He is the son of Rob and Pam Young and was born in London, Ontario … He has one brother, Brennan, and one sister, Schuyler … He is undecided on the major he will be pursuing.
