Ashley Davis was hired as an assistant coach on June 24, 2021 after coaching at Oklahoma State for six seasons.
Davis' second year with with Arizona included the program's third-straight NCAA Tournament berth and its 10th overall. She helped guide the Wildcats to their fifth consecutive 20-win season, and five of those wins were over opponents ranked in the AP Top 25. Arizona was ranked wire-to-wire in the 2022-23 season, reaching its highest placement of the year at No. 12. The team concluded the year first in the Pac-12 in steals, third in field goal percentage and three-point field goal percentage defense and fourth in scoring offense.Â
In her first season in Tucson, Davis was on staff for another banner season for the Wildcats. Arizona eclipsed the 20-win mark for a fourth consecutive season for the first time in program history while hosting and playing in the NCAA Tournament in McKale Center for the first time since 1998. The program continued its defensive prowess rankings second in the Pac-12 in scoring defense, third in defensive rebounding, second in steals and first in turnover margin.
In her last year at Oklahoma State during the 2020-21 season, the Cowgirls made the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2018. Davis also helped coach Natasha Mack, who was a second-round pick in the WNBA Draft and was also named the WBCA and Naismith Defensive Player of the Year.

In her six seasons at Oklahoma State, the Cowgirls played in three NCAA Tournaments and one WNIT. She helped coach four All-Americans, five All-Big 12 selections, three WNBA Draft picks and five 1,000-point scorers during her time in Stillwater. Davis also helped recruit and coach Braxtin Miller, who was on the Big 12 All-Freshman team and became an All-American.

Prior to her time at Oklahoma State, Davis coached at North Texas for two seasons and was the associate head coach in the 2014-15 season. She was also an assistant coach for four seasons at Georgetown and helped the Hoyas to 20-win seasons in all four years. During her time with the program, Georgetown made three consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, including a Sweet 16 berth in 2011, and reached the quarterfinals of the WNIT in 2009.

A native of San Antonio, Texas, Davis was a four-year letterwinner at TCU and was twice named an all-conference selection. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in business administration in 2005 and received her master's in educational administration in 2007.
