Devan Newman is an assistant coach for the University of Arizona women’s basketball program, joining the Wildcats in April 2026 after two seasons at University of Pittsburgh.

Prior to Pitt, Newman spent six seasons at Binghamton University, including as associate head coach. During the 2019-20 season, she helped the Bearcats to a 9-0 start and a program-record number of wins. Across her tenure, Binghamton produced multiple all-conference selections.

Newman also spent seven seasons as an assistant coach at Weber State University from 2011-18. During the 2015-16 season, Weber State recorded a program-best 23 wins and advanced to the Women’s Basketball Invitational (WBI) championship game.

She began her coaching career at University of Louisville, serving as a graduate assistant before being promoted to assistant director of operations and special assistant to the head coach.

Newman earned her bachelor’s degree in sport administration from University of Oregon in 2007 and her master’s degree in sport administration from Louisville in 2009.
