Jessika Carrington is entering her fifth season as Director of Basketball Operations for the Arizona women’s basketball team. Carrington is responsible for all of the program’s day-to-day operations, operating and recruiting budgets, all aspects of team travel, game scheduling and supervision of student managers. Carrington is also program liaison to various departments in the athletic department, coordinating various needs and requests with Compliance, CATS Academics and Life Skills, Marketing, Equipment, Event Management, and directs the team community service initiatives which have won the Athletic Director’s Community Service Cup for four-consecutive years.
During her time in Tucson, Carrington has helped the Wildcats reemerge as one of the nation’s elite basketball programs. The Wildcats have won at least 24 games in back-to-back seasons and claimed the 2019 WNIT Championship. During the 2019-20 season, the Wildcats were ranked in the AP Top 25 Poll for 16-straight weeks, won three games over top-10 opponents, including a historic program win over No. 4 Stanford, and finished fourth in the Pac-12.
Carrington came to the Wildcats after four seasons as Administrative Assistant to the Head Coach for USC Women's Basketball 2013-2017. With the Trojans, Carrington was responsible for oversight of basketball office duties, assisted with team travel/meals, coordinated student managers, communicated with all athletic and academic departments, and administered the head coach’s calendar. During the 2013-2014 season, Carrington helped the Trojans win the PAC-12 Conference Tournament Championship and advance to a first-round berth in the NCAA Tournament.
Prior to USC, Carrington worked for the Athletics Ticket Office at the University of Oklahoma as a graduate student responsible for selling, distribution and marketing of tickets for all sports. Carrington's experience with Division I Women’s Basketball began as team manager for the Sooners 2006-2010. During those four years, the Sooners collected two regular season Big 12 Conference Championships (2006-07, 2008-09), a Big 12 Tournament Championship (2007), four consecutive NCAA Tournament runs, and back-to-back NCAA Final Four appearances (2009, 2010).
Carrington volunteers as a logistics team member for Felicia Hall Allen and Associates, a motivational speaking, training, consulting and sports management company. For the past four years Carrington has assisted FHA & Associates with hosting annual professional development symposiums (A Step Up) for college basketball coaches.
Carrington earned her Bachelor of Arts in Human Relations (2010) and her Master of Education in Intercollegiate Athletic Administration (2012), both from the University of Oklahoma.
