Dwight Dumais Head Shot

Dwight Dumais

Former collegiate All-American diver and decorated international coach Dwight Dumais joined the Arizona coaching staff in August of 2018. Leading Arizona's diving program, Dumais has seen immense success, guiding multiple divers to NCAA Finals and major conference achievements.

In the 2024-25 season, Arizona’s diving squad saw immense in-season and postseason success under his leadership. There was not a single dual meet over the course of the season where an Arizona diver did not place in the top two in an event, and only one dual meet where an Arizona diver was not first in at least one event.

Dumais developed a well-rounded men's diving squad, composed of two freshman, as demonstrated in the squad’s second-place finish in the team diving event at the 2025 Big 12 Championships. Also at conference championships, all Arizona divers advanced to at least one final, and freshman diver Colin Agor was named Big 12 Freshman Diver of the meet. Additionally, Gage DuBois advanced to the “A” Final of every competition event he participated in. On the women's side, Brooke Earley and Zara Ayazi both advanced to two “A” finals, earning 54 points and 74 points, respectively, towards Arizona’s second-place finish at Big 12s.

This pattern of excellence was repeated and depth of Arizona’s diving squad with Dumais at the helm was demonstrated at the NCAA DI Zone E Diving Championships, where Earley, Ayazi and DuBois qualified for NCAAs. At NCAAs, DuBois was one of two male Arizona athletes to earn All-America Second Team honors in an individual event. Earley was the only Arizona athlete to make individual finals in an event at women’s NCAAs, advancing to finals in both the events she had qualified for (1m and 3m). Under Dumais’ direction, Earley was the second-highest finishing Big 12 diver in the NCAA 1m and 3m finals.

Dumais, a five-time All-American diver at Stanford, was a coach at the internationally-renowned Longhorn Aquatic club at the University of Texas from 2010-2018 prior to joining the Arizona staff.

Dumais has served as a coach for USA Diving in various international competitions, including the 2017 World Championships in Budapest. His tutelage also includes one World Championship selection (2017), one World Cup selection (2018), one Junior World Champion (2016), one U.S. Olympic Trial finalist (2016), six Junior National Champions (2011, 2013, 2016, 2017) and nine senior national titles (2012, 2016, 2017, 2018).

The Ventura, California native was a five-time All-American diver at Stanford, where he won the 2007 and 2009 one-meter Pac-10 Championship and was named 2006 Pac-10 Newcomer of the Year.

In addition to international coaching experience, Dumais was also a decorated diver on the international stage, with experience from the junior level through the senior level. Dumais was a six-year member of the USA Diving team (2009, 2011-15) and qualified for the Olympic Trials in 2012 and 2016. Dumais won the Senior National Synchronized Three-Meter Championship in 2012.
