Jesse Stipek

Jesse Stipek, a former Olympic Trial Qualifier in 2012 and team captain, is starting in his first season as assistant coach, after being a graduate assistant for the Wildcats for two years. He helps with all aspects of the sprint group and recruiting.
 
Stipek comes to Arizona after swimming at the University of Wisconsin from 2007-2011, serving as a student assistant coach in Madison as well. As an assistant swim coach with the Badger Aquatics Club, Stipek mentored young swimmers and helped see them through to college and Olympic Trials.
 
After getting a bachelor’s degree in History at the University of Wisconsin, Stipek graduated from the University of Arizona in 2015 with a master’s degree in Educational Leadership Athletic Administration. He is now in his third year of his doctorate in Educational Policy Studies and Practice, with a minor in Public Policy and Government. For his doctorate research, Stipek is looking into the neoliberal necessity for implementing new policies pertaining to sexual assault within college campuses and universities.
 
In addition to being an assistant coach, Stipek serves as the educational policy studies and practice, college of education government representative. He is also a member of the college council working with the dean to implement new policies and bylaws for students. In his free time, Stipek is an adjunct instructor in the TLS Department. He tutors refugees at the refugee center in Tucson.
 
Stipek is the son of Mike and Annie Stipek, and has two younger brothers and one younger sister. Stipek comes from a family of swimming, with his father, uncle, brother, and sister all swimming at the collegiate level.
