Steve Brown, a three-time letterwinner at Ball State, is in his third season as assistant coach for the Arizona swimming program.
 
Brown comes to the program having coached over 100 high school All-Americans, more than 100 Florida Junior Olympic State Champions, over 25 Florida high school state champions, more than 20 YMCA National Champions and numerous USA Swimming National Finalists and Champions, Olympic Trial qualifiers and finalists, USA Swimming National team members and International record holders and medalists.
 
Brown had served as the head coach of the YMCA Sarasota Sharks since 2010 before coming to Arizona. From 2010-2013, the Sarasota Sharks, under Brown, were four-time YMCA National Combined Team Champions, two-time National Women’s Team Champions, National Men’s Team Champions in 2012, and held 11 YMCA national meet records.
 
Brown was selected to the USA Junior World Champion Coaching Staff in 2013 by USA Swimming and his team won the Team Gold Medal Award from 2010-2013. In 2012, Brown was selected to the USA Junior Pan-Pacific Coaching Staff and had seven Olympic Trial Qualifiers with one Olympic Trial finalist in women’s 800 freestyle and one semi-finalist in men’s 200 back. Brown also had two swimmers selected to the USA Junior Pan-Pacific Team the same year.
 
Brown received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Ball State University.
