Alexis Butler

Alexis Butler joined the Arizona Athletics and the Wildcat Club in August 2023 as Director, Development (Phoenix Region). Alexis' primary responsibilities include but are not limited to maintaining and cultivating relationships with donors in Maricopa County.

Prior to her time with Wildcat Club Alexis served as the Assistant Athletic Director, Academic & Student Services from August 2018 - 2023 after joining the UCI Athletics Department in September 2014 as a Academic/ Life Skills Coordinator. In her role, Butler was responsible for overall oversight of the Student Services Unit. Her duties included oversight of admissions pre-evaluation, planning, implementation and evaluation of academic support, student-athlete development, student-athlete mental health education and student services. She serves as a Co-Chair for the campus wide Hazing Prevention Coalition and is a member of the Campus Community Response Team. Alexis directly provided support services to the sports of Men's Basketball, Men's & Women's Track & Field & Cross Country and Men's & Women's Tennis. Prior to that role, Butler served as an Academic/Life Skills Coordinator. She provided direct support to numerous teams while also serving as the department's Life Skills Coordinator and Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Advisor. Butler was a member of the National Association of Academic and Student-Athlete Development Professionals (N4A).

Prior to entering back into college athletics she spent 8 years as a top sales representative for Merck Pharmaceutical Company.

A Long Beach, California native, Butler earned her BA in Law, Societies & Justice from University of Washington and was a member of the Nationally Ranked Women's Volleyball program. In 2018, Alexis received her Masters Degree in Negotiation, Conflict Resolution & Peacebuilding from Cal State University, Dominguez Hills.

Butler's father Glenn McDonald played for Lute Olson during his time at Long Beach State and was member of the 1976 Boston Celtics Championship team also her Grandfather Fred Batiste was inducted into University of Arizona Hall of Fame as a member of the 1949-1950 Track and Field and Football team and still holds the 3rd longest punt return as of 2023. Butler is married to John Butler and resides in the Phoenix area.
