Bud Sasser

Bud Sasser joined Arizona as the Associate Athletic Director for Contracts in October 2024 after receiving his JD from the University of Missouri School of Law. In his role at Arizona, Sasser leads the strategic planning and execution of the department’s revenue-sharing framework. He collaborates closely with administrators, coaches, and the Office of General Counsel on player contract structures, roster planning, and financial budgeting models. Additionally, Sasser develops data-driven systems and analytical tools to support salary cap strategy and long-term financial forecasting. His oversight extends across team-specific budgets and total revenue-share projections, ensuring that Arizona Athletics remains agile and accountable in a rapidly evolving landscape.

Sasser brings to the Wildcats extensive expertise in football and athletic affairs. He spent two years as the Director of Operations for Every True Tiger Brands, a resource for Mizzou athletes amidst the evolving landscape of Name, Image, and Likeness rules, which evolved from Advancing Missouri Athletes and Every True Tiger Foundation.

Sasser’s knowledge of collegiate and professional athletics originates from his experience on the gridiron. During his four-year career as a wide receiver at Missouri (2011-14), he amassed 116 receptions for 1,611 yards and 14 touchdowns. He earned first team All-SEC honors as a senior, posting 77 grabs for 1,003 yards and 12 scores. He also had a 40-yard touchdown pass as a junior in the Tigers’ 41-26 upset of seventh-ranked Georgia.

He was selected by the St. Louis Rams in the sixth round (201st overall pick) of the 2015 NFL Draft and later served as the franchise’s External Football Affairs Coordinator. After this stint in the NFL, Sasser moved into the world of collegiate athletics, working at Missouri as a Graduate Assistant, Coordinator of Student-Athlete Development and Assistant Director of Student-Athlete Development & Career Services.

During his postgraduate years, he also founded SasserNation, a nonprofit organization in Denton, Texas dedicated to enriching the lives of youth in the community through athletics and academics, providing opportunities for increased sports participation and scholarships.

Sasser and his wife Mandi have one daughter, Malia.
