Assistant Coach, Performance Enhancement
Chris Allen rejoined the Arizona strength and conditioning staff in June of 2023 as an Assistant Director of Performance Enhancement.
Allen returns to Tucson after two years at his alma mater, West Virginia. He assisted with the design, implementation and conducting of strength and conditioning programs for football student-athletes.
Prior to West Virginia, Allen spent a year at Indiana after working at Kansas State for two years. He worked with football at both institutions. In his six previous years at Arizona (2012-2018), Allen oversaw 17 programs' strength and conditioning and supervised a staff of nine.
Allen worked at Michigan for three years after beginning his career at his alma mater, West Virginia, in 2003. He was a sprinter on the Mountaineers' track team from 1996-2000 and graduated from the university with degrees in accounting and management information systems. He additionally earned a master's degree from West Virginia in 2005.
Allen holds certifications from the National Strength and Conditioning Association, the National Academy of Sports Medicine PES & CES, the National Association of Speed and Explosion, USA Weightlifting Level I Sports and the American Red Cross.
