David Oropeza was named Assistant Director of Event Operations in October of 2024 and currently serves as the primary event manager for volleyball, baseball, and men's and women's tennis.
He joined Arizona Athletics as a student worker for Athletic Facilities and was given a full-time role as Coordinator of Athletic Facilities shortly after graduating from the University of Arizona in 2019. In the fall of 2023, David's title was elevated to Assistant Director of Athletic Facilities where he managed event setup/tear down and maintenance of several facilities.
The Nogales, Arizona native earned his bachelor's degree in Communication with a certificate in Sports Management at the University of Arizona in 2019 and his MBA from W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University in 2025.
A former baseball student-athlete, Oropeza loves all things baseball and you can find him at Hi-Corbett in the spring or Chase Field in the summer.
