Evan Tubbs was elevated to Assistant Athletic Director in January 2026 after serving as the Director of Compliance since July 2024. As Assistant AD, he is responsible for overseeing recruiting operations for all 20 sports, camps/clinics, rules education efforts, and supervision of legal externs within the compliance office. He previously held the role as Director of Compliance where he played a key role in initial and continuing eligibility, roster management, certification, and served as the institutional transfer portal contact.

Before arriving in Tucson, Tubbs served as Director of Compliance at the University of Texas – San Antonio. Prior to his time at UTSA, he served as Assistant Director of Compliance & Legal Operations at Georgia Institute of Technology. In that role, his responsibilities included eligibility and drafting of coaching contracts. He was promoted to Assistant Director after beginning his time at Georgia Tech as Compliance Assistant.

He was a former baseball student-athlete at St. Edward’s University, tallying multiple Hartland Conference championships, and setting the record for most team wins in a season in school history (46-12).  

A native of Austin, Texas, Tubbs earned a Bachelor degree in Economics and Mathematics from St. Edward’s University in 2019. He attended law school at St. Mary’s University, where he earned his Juris Doctorate in 2022.
