Kortney Dunbar, from Edwardsville, IL., is entering her first year as Director of Recruiting for the Arizona Women’s Basketball program.
From
2018-2020, Dunbar worked at Vanderbilt University as a Graduate Assistant Coach. Inducted into the
2020 WBCA “So You Want To Be A Coach” program, her main responsibilities included overseeing student managers, assisting with recruiting efforts, organizing travel responsibilities, implementing social media strategies, and creating scouting reports. Dunbar would earn her Master’s degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences.

This program is very special and what she is building here at the University of Arizona is what attracted me to this role. I am excited to direct recruiting efforts, increase our social media engagement across all platforms, and ultimately, win championships.”
Between
2014-2018, Dunbar was a student-athlete for the University of Tennessee Women’s Basketball team. In this role, Dunbar would reach one regular season SEC Championship (2015), two Elite-8 appearances (
2015, 2016) and one Sweet 16 appearance (
2014). During this stint, she would be recognized academically hosting a 3.7 GPA earning her the
Chancellor’s Citation for Outstanding Scholar Athlete award, the
Extraordinary Academic Achievement award, as well as SEC Academic Honor Roll (
2014-2018).
Dunbar graduated from the University of Tennessee with a B.S in Sports Management and Business in
2018.
