Matt George joined Arizona Athletics in 2006 and was named Assistant Athletics Director for Video and IT in 2013. George joined the department as a staff systems administrator before being promoted to assistant director of video and IT in 2008. Just one year later, he was promoted to director of video and IT.
In his current role, he oversees the Information Technology department where he and his staff are responsible for IT services for over 200 staff members and all events throughout the athletics department. In addition, he coordinates all elements of audio, video and event technology for the department.
In 2012, George was tabbed by CIO to lead the DAS project for the university and bring in a neutral host carrier to distribute cellular services to all areas of campus.Â
George graduated from the University of Arizona in 2007, when he earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology. His wife Allison is a clinical pharmacist at Banner UMC hospital in Tucson and they have two children.
