Gruszecki captured the championship title as a freshman in 2007, took second in 2008 and won the title again in 2011. After graduating from Western Washington with degrees in German, English Literature and a certificate in teaching, Gruszecki furthered her education at Gonzaga University School of Law. She was an editor of the Gonzaga Law Review and interned in various legal fields, including with the King County Prosecutor’s Office in Washington. Gruszecki later integrated legal education with sports regulation by working in Gonzaga’s athletics department as a compliance intern. Gruszecki graduated from Gonzaga’s law school with cum laude honors in 2016.

Gruszecki’s career as a javelin thrower continued after college as she continued to train throughout law school, competing across North America and Europe and ultimately at the 2016 Olympic Trials. Gruszecki is fluent in German and Polish. In her free time she enjoys cycling, gardening, snowboarding and spending quality time with her family and friends.
