Oscar Portillo is the Athletics Department Associate AD for Business Affairs. Promoted in August 2004 from Director of Business Operations/Financial Analyst, Portillo is in charge of departmental business operations, a post he assumed in 1998. His duties expanded in 2001 to include additional responsibilities for supervision of the Ticket Office Accounting section.
Portillo came to the athletics department from the U of A Bookstores, where he was the Senior Business Manager. During his tenure at the Bookstores, he was responsible for all financial aspects, including a budget of over 20 million dollars. Portillo also served as the Business Manager at the Student Recreation Center and worked as a Senior Accountant in the financial management section of the Financial Services Office.
Portillo and his wife Elizabeth have two sons, Alex and David, and a daughter, Denisse. He earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from the University of Arizona. Portillo is a native of Nogales.
