Rebecca Sasnett joined Arizona Athletics in November of 2021 following a three-year stint as a photographer for the Arizona Daily Star, Tucson’s daily newspaper. As a staff photographer for the athletics department, Sasnett assists with all game day, marketing, recruiting and archival photography needs.
She climbed through the Arizona Daily Star’s photography ranks, beginning as an apprentice and then a freelance photographer before being promoted to staff photographer. Her work at the Daily Star included a second-place award for Best Feature Photo Layout in 2021 from the Arizona Newspaper Association. Her photos have been published in a variety of marquee outlets that include Sports Illustrated, USA Today and the LA Times.
Sasnett previously worked at the University of Arizona as an intern for the athletics department as well as the official photographer for The Pride of Arizona marching band. The Tucson native graduated from the School of Journalism at Arizona in 2015.
