Suzy Mason was hired by Arizona Athletics in 1997 to work in Event Management and Operations. She assists with hosting home athletic events in various sports and focuses on scheduling venues and enhancing game day atmosphere at events. From 2000-2004, Mason served as Director of Internal Operations, overseeing event planning, game day event management, and some postseason travel for Arizona Athletics.
Mason was promoted in June 2004 to Assistant Athletics Director and took on the management oversight of facilities and video/technology. While continuing to manage game day operations, she was specifically tasked with integrating the internal working units that support 20 full time sports. Elevated to Associate Athletics Director in 2006, Mason assisted more directly with daily facilities operations for athletics as well as coordinating efforts with department, campus, and community entities to maximize the use of facilities.Â

Mason has assisted with hosting postseason NCAA and Pac-12 Championship events. She has served as a former committee member for the Tucson Fiesta Bowl Committee, One on One Partners, and has worked with campus on emergency responses to incidents. While the primary goal remains to ensure the safety and security of fans at athletic events and venues, she assists with long-term planning and capital projects for ICA.
Mason joined the executive team as Senior Associate A.D. in 2012 and focuses on internal operations.
Raised in Canandaigua, N.Y., Mason earned a bachelor’s of science at Cornell University and a master’s of science at The University of Arizona. She is married to Marvin Mason and has two children, Kate and Drew.
