Pullman, Wash.- The No. 16-ranked Arizona volleyball team fell to Washington State in its Pac-10 opener Thursday night, 3-1, in Pullman, Wash., before a crowd of 743. Game scores of the match were 30-32, 27-30, 30-25, 34-36. The loss drops Arizona to 6-5 overall and 0-1 in the Pac-10
Arizona was led by sophomore Kim Glass who tallied her sixth 20-plus-kill match of the season, finishing with 23 kills on 56 swings, with 10 errors for a .232 hitting percentage. Sophomore Bre Ladd chipped in with 13 kills on .310 hitting, as the only other Wildcat to finish with double digit-kills.
Freshman setter Stephanie Butkis finished with 51 assists along with three kills, while junior Kelli Mulvany tallied 16 digs.
The Wildcats will continue their Pac-10 road trip on Friday with a match up against Washington in Seattle, Wash. The first serve is scheduled for 7 p.m.
