TUCSON, Ariz.- The University of Arizona men's golf team put together a round of 292, four-over par, and find itself in 16th place on the second day of the Isleworth-UCF Collegiate Invitational.
UA's second round total was 20 strokes better than its day one effort, and allowed the team to climb out of a deep first-round hole thanks in part to Tarquin MacManus' two-under 70. MacManus is five-over par for the tournament, and tied for 30th place. His 149 total leads the Cats and is 11 shots behind leader Russell Henley of Georgia.
After finishing day one in a tie for fourth, Georgia shot a 277 and now leads the event at -5. Alabama, who lead after day one, fell to third after the second round.
All UA players improved their scores in the second round. MacManus' two-under round boosted him from 73rd to 30th. Roberto Galletti shot a 76 on day one to lead all Arizona competitors, and shot a 75 on day two. Galletti is tied for 51st.
Jonathan Khan's second round of 74 put him at 153 for the tournament. Tyler Neal is 10-over for the tournament and tied for 66th place. Bradley Nicholson improved his day one total by 11 strokes, and now is tied for 82nd.
