SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Junior Stefan Cox led four Wildcat finishers in the Wyoming Cowboy Classic with a T28th finish in the event; Arizona did not enter as a team.
Cox shot a 217 (+7) for the tournament, best of any individual (10 entries). Tom Conran had the second best second best score of the individual participants; the junior shot a 225 (+15) for the tournament. Conran finished tied for 81st in the 130-man field. Peter Ireland tied for 108th and Miles Thorson placed 128th.
CSU-Northridge took home the team title in the event with its 841 (+1) performance. Gunner Wiebe of San Diego closed with a 66 (-4) to secure the individual medal by two strokes over Jeff Freund of CSU-Northridge.
The event closes out the JV schedule. Arizona will now prepare for its postseason endeavours which begin with the Pac-10 Championship, April 26-28 played in Tempe, Ariz.
The Wyoming Cowboy Classic was held at the Talking Stick Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz., a par 70, 7,133 yard course.
