TUCSON -After day one of play at the Pac-12/SEC Challenge, the University of Arizona Wildcat women's golf team sits in a tie for sixth place. Hosted by the University of Tennessee, in Knoxville, competition will take place Fri.-Sun., Oct. 21-23, at Holston Hills Country Club (par 72, 6,447 yards).

No. 22 Arizona sits in a three-way tie for sixth place with a score of 296 (+8). No. 1 UCLA leads the team race after shooting a seven-under par 281. No. 6 Alabama is in second place with a score of 281 (-4). No. 27 Tennessee rounds out the top three with a round of 291 (+3). Stephanie Meadow of Alabama and Laura Stratton of Vanderbilt share the lead in the individual race. They collected a first round score of 68 (-4).

"I'm very proud of our team today," head coach Laura Ianello said. "Nikki Koller, Margarita Ramos and Kyndall Ardoin really carried us. Isabelle Boineau will make a few more putts tomorrow and be right back in it."

Junior Kyndall Ardoin and seniors Margarita Ramos and Nikki Koller were Arizona's top players on Friday. They stand in a nine-way tie for 23rd place after carding an opening round of 73 (+1). Ardoin had four birdies on the day, including three on the back nine. Koller also had four birdies while Ramos collected three.

Senior Isabelle Boineau shot a 77 (+5) and sits in a nine-way tie for 69th, Freshman Paige Spiranac rounds out the Arizona five in a five-way tie for 112th place. She shot an 83 (+11).

Play at the Pac-12/SEC Challenge will continue at 9:30 a.m. CT on Saturday.
