Despite senior Courtney Karst's (Centennial, Colo.) 16 kills, the Arizona volleyball team (14-9, 6-8) fell to No. 10 Washington on Sunday in Seattle, Wash. The Huskies beat the Wildcats, 3-0 (25-15, 25-21, 25-22).
Karst posted a .244 hitting percentage, bringing up the teams' .090 percentage, and also added eight digs for the Wildcats.
“Courtney played really well,” Arizona head coach David Rubio said. “She was the silver lining to the match.”
Sophomores Candace Nicholson (Long Beach, Calif.) and Emily Helm (Queen Creek, Ariz.) contributed digs in the double-digits with 22 and 11, respectively, and freshman Chloe Mathis (La Jolla, Calif.) had 30 assists.
“Offensively, this might have been our worst match of the year,” Rubio said. “Our passing was inaccurate, our setting was inconsistent and as a result, we came out with a loss.”
Bianca Rowland led the Huskies with eight blocks and Gabbi Parker added 11 kills.
Arizona will return to McKale Center for a four-match homestand over two weekends. On Friday, Nov. 4, the Wildcats will face Oregon State at 7 p.m. and No. 16 Oregon on Sunday, Nov.6 at noon.
