The Arizona Wildcats sent four players to compete in the 2012 USTA/ITA Southwest Regional Championships in Irvine, Calif. Giacomo Miccini, Kieren Thompson, Andre Vidaller, and Sumeet Shinde wrapped up play on Sunday.

In doubles play, Shinde and Thompson advanced to the quarterfinals where they took on seventh seeded Nicholas Bjerke and Sebastian Bustamante from Loyola Marymount. The Arizona duo was topped, 8-3, to end their doubles run.

Shinde advanced to the singles round of 16, which set him to play the No. 3 seed, Roberto Quiroz from USC. Shinde fell in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1.

The Cats will be back in action on Nov. 2 when they travel to Las Vegas, Nev. to compete in the 2012 UNLV Fall Invitational.
